At 26 years of age, this patient came looking for Breast Augmentation and correction of her breast shape to our Long Island office. She didn't want big breasts, and didn't even want to have to wear a bra, but wanted implants large enough to fill out a blouse comfortably. Also, she was self conscious about the "pointy" shape of her breasts.
Examination showed that she had a condition called "tuberous breasts" or "constricted breasts". This condition is not a disease. It just describes a breast shape with most of the breast tissue contained just below the areola and bulging forward.
At surgery we placed modest breast implants, 150 and 175 ccs, which were silicone filled. When a patient is quite thin, with only a small amount of tissue to cover breast implants we will often recommend silicone for the most natural results. At the same time, through a small incision around the areola we re-shaped her own breast tissue.
We are delighted with her results, which have given her a B cup size. She is able to wear clothes comfortably, and does not have to wear a bra.
