This 27 year old woman, who works in the medical field, came to us for a breast augmentation. She was referred by several friends who had surgery with Dr. Romanelli. She came from Queens to our Long Island office to talk about breast implants.
She told us that her breasts just never developed very much. She had researched breast implant options and was most comfortable with saline. We offer saline breast implants as well as 2 types of cohesive gel (gummy bear type) implants. Her examination was normal, but her breasts were out of proportion with the rest of her body.
We have a lot of medical professionals (doctors, nurses, and other healthcare workers) come to the practice, and it is always a pleasure to take care of these well-informed "insiders." Her questions were direct, and practical.
She was sore after her surgery, the first day or two. She chose an incision below the breast, which along with incisions around the nipple (actually around the areola) or under the arm are well-hidden for most women. After 5 days off from work she was ready to get back into circulation.
She now wears tops which highlight her figure, and no longer needs water bras or silicone enhancers to feel comfortable. The change is remarkable, but she shows great proportion now, and her breasts are soft, without any appearance of being "done." She loves the natural results.
